Nothing like a visit to NELL HILL'S when in K.C.

My sweet Missy checking out the wares:D

A bed skirt Arica and I were looking at for Maddie's big girl bed!
I think when Maddie finally masters the toddler bed,
it will be time to try the regular twin!
At this point I think I could make this bed skirt for her color scheme:D

Isn't this sweet?

I always bring a little something special home with me from Mary Carol's.....
this year it was white pumpkins and greenery:D
I will share what I used them for in the next post!

Birthday Lunch for Meems........

Mimi celebrated a Birthday while we were in Seattle.....so today I took her for her annual Birthday Lunch! We went to a lovely place called "Table Three" up the road from where we live. It was elegant and the food was GREAT! I had not been there before, but Meems said that it was owned by one of local Eureka gals that used to have a little cafe and catering business on our Main Street! WELL.......Beth came out from the back and we expressed our congrats to her for her lovely place. Fun to see a local make it big:D Beth, we will be back!

Then we went to investigate the Cupcake Bar.....a new addition to the area.
So sweet.....you can go and pick out your cake base,
icing flavors
and toppings....
just like an ice cream store:D
They make it up for you right there
and
you can sit outside (on a cooler day) and enjoy your sweet treat!
I am going to have to take the grandkids there for something special:D

Their cakes were out of this world........and these are just a few!!!!!
You can visit them online here!

Check out the Prada purse and children's creations:D

What A Beautiful Day......

My neighbor and I enjoyed the most beautiful day at the Mo. Botanical Gardens today! The weather was perfect and we enjoyed a nice lunch on the patio! Such a special place!

We went to see the Lily display that was fabulous! So many different varieties and oh so many colors!!!!!

True Lilies.

Several artists taking advantage of the beautiful weather!

Bear Breeches.

The old library in the background is the building they will soon open to the public! Evidently it was the private library of Henry Shaw and contained books and specimens he collected.

This is the garden that can be seen from the windows of Henry Shaw's home. Wouldn't we all enjoy a garden like this in our back yard?

The "Maze" also located
in the former back yard of Henry Shaw's home.

Grant's Farm on a Beautiful Day.....

Today we enjoyed the beautiful weather
with a trip to Grant's Farm!
We got to meet Carrie's friend Jim's parents
and
enjoyed a beer together:D
We ended up taking Margo home early
since she was a little put off by the crowd.
All in all it was a fabulous day.....
so good to be able to spend it outside:D
The BEST part of the day came well before the Grant's Farm trip though.........
the doc called
to tell us the good new
that Rog was CANCER FREE!!!!!!!
No better way to start off the day!

Circus Flora!!!!!!!!!

Our kids gave us tickets for Circus Flora at Powell Music Hall.
The production was fabulous and really unique
seeing it all set up with the St. Louis symphony.
The acts were exciting and frightening at times:D
They do all the high wire work without nets or safety devices.....WOW! The symphony was great
and the combo was terrific and unexpected:D
We had a marvelous time and then dinner at TGIFridays.
Really nice Sunday!

Part 2

Father Bill and his crew outdid themselves this year! Click on pics to enlarge and see detail:D In the third floor room (Santa's Workshop.....new this year) we counted 18 Christmas Trees!

All the window sills in the parlor are filled with little villages......so quaint:D

Couldn't even see the tree on which all these ornaments were hung!

Loved the little paper houses everywhere!

The kitchen is small......but not a counter top or cabinet is overlooked:D

Hard to see but this little tree is decorated with Sterling spoons and forks.....as well as vintage crystals:D On the wall behind these was a collage of Sterling platters!

The dining room theme was the "Snow Fairy Tea Party"......spectacular!

There was a hostess (Snow Fairy) to greet us and explain the details of the roome:D
Father Bill had made cupcakes and candies to decorated the table......he made them of piped spackle!!!!!

The room glowed with tiny sparkling lights......enchanted!

Buffet top!!!!!

The chandelier was lovely as well....

The family room where Father Bill lives.........fabulous space:D

Upstairs.....we found Santa and Mrs. Clause taking a little winter nap:D

We all hammed it up after the tour.........great salads at Bev's cousin Steve's restaurant!

Thank you girls for making Christmas Memories:D
