Mardi Gras in Biloxi...............

San and I worked on a quilt we had brought fabric to create.
Love the way the fabrics went together.
Here Sandy is sewing in our suite at Residence Inn, Gulfport, Al.
We always have fun together....either drawing, painting and this year....sewing!
When the guys go to play golf, Sandy and I shop, antique etc. etc.
We never are short of things to do :^)
This year we planned to sew,
making a Biloxi Quilt!

Biloxi and Gulfport are beautiful cities located on the ocean....with gorgeous white beaches.
This area was completely destroyed 10 yrs. ago when Katrina came through:(
We had stayed here several times in the past....and it was sad to see so many
of the beautiful homes gone.
All that was left were vacant lots along the ocean....with a small amount of new construction!

There are parades going on each day....some cities having 3 a day!
We had a great place to watch a Mardi Gras parade on the deck of a bar called Big Mikes!
We met some lovely people and collected our share of beads......
Weather was beautiful in the 70's with sun shining.
Unfortunately, Fat Tuesday turned out rainy and cold......ruining much of the festivity.

Bus and Rog played golf with friends Jeff and Tim....
We were lucky to enjoy dinner with them each night!
Laughed until we became a nuisance at several restaurants.
Great time and a wonderful way to spend a week :)
Some of the best food I have ever had......Royal Red shrimp to die for!
The quilt ain't bad either!
Will post later.
