Simple Shawl/Throw.....

Yesterday was a day with my sister....
We decided to use an old piece of fleece
I had purchased some years ago
and try to make a quick
shawl/throw.
Sandy's friend June (the one that put on the fashion show some posts ago)
had give my sis the quick and easy pattern!
With two yards of fabric we were each able to make these
darling throws!
We each made one using a piece about 54" X 54".
The trim was an after-thought
made from the scraps!
You simply cut a large oval on the diagonal from your square piece of fabric.
the oval or egg shape should be wider at one end than the other.
The neck hole is cut in the middle
and
the opening continues down the front (the small end of the egg shape).
We cut strips from the scraps
ruffled them
sewed them on:D
What a fun little project!!!!!
If you are interested, let me know and I will post a pic
of the pattern.

The back hangs really cute....
not so much in this photo because hubby didn't know
how to fool with it to make it hang:)

Here you can get a better idea of how it is shaped.
Egg shaped oval with the front being the smaller
end of the egg!
Of course with fleece....no hemming:)
We are going to try to make some with double knits
and see how they turn out.
Stay tuned!
