Tonight was "S.P.E.C.I.A.L"......

I can't begin to explain the HAPPINESS I feel tonight! After being called off for snow and bad weather......and missing ourselves last week......tonight we went to horse back riding with Margo! OMGoodness.......she did everything but stand on her head on that horse:D No tears.....nothing but success! I can't even believe the changes that have taken place in this little girl. Tonight, Laura, her trainer gave her a different horse to ride......one that had a little more bounce to her step..."Gypsy"! Margo had no problem with this being a different horse....although she did love "Doc". She rode with her hands high in the air, backwards, on her knees and even turned completely around several times while riding!!!!!!! The part that brought tears to my eyes was when Laura asked her to stay in a position on the horse until she had counted to 10. Each time, she did as told.....and....counted out loud with no coaxing!!!!!!! OMG Laura......I will forever be grateful:D Since Margo very seldom speaks other than mentioning items she wants to eat...ha..ha.......this was so thrilling to Papa and I. It became quite clear to me that she understands everything asked of her....and since we spoil her......she doesn't repond to our wishes! Laura has such control of the situation and is making such progress with our little girl.....she will never know what it means to us. If you have a disabled child I can only hope that you have someone with such insight working with your child:D

After riding Margo wanted to come and spend the night.......of course we said yes! Here are some of the many photos I took ......thanks for being patient with me:D

I have read so many stories and articles about the power that horses have on autistic children and am thrilled to pieces that it is working with Margo. I just wish it was possible for all kids like her to get the chance to try this therapy. Thank goodness she has such a wonderful family to support her and love her just the way she is!!

I always enjoy hearing about Margo's progress. At-a-girl!
