Happy Thursday.....I have a question for you!

Treadmills
Hoping not to sound too self indulgent......
Several people have asked if I would sell my vintage book journals online in my Etsy?
Here is the problem.....
I have made enough for my little shop where I sell my things
and
there is a lot of time involved in making them....soooooooo,
I don't really want to make more if there isn't any interest.
I have never had much luck selling from my Etsy
(maybe my prices are too high or maybe people just don't go there? Don't know).
Here is the question!!!!
Do you think these little journals
featured in the past several posts
would sell in my Etsy shop for 32.00 + shipping?
I know that is asking a lot of you,
but
if you would comment it would be greatly appreciated!

By commenting you are not saying you want one,
you are just guiding me a bit:D
I hope you will help me here........
Thanks so much, Linda

Hmmm. Good question. I think pricing is one of the most challenging things to do when selling your creations. I think that you must make sure you are adequately compensated for your time and talents. That said, I believe with a good write up stating all the specifics about the books and possibly including a comment regarding the time involved in making them, a $32.00 price is not out of scope. Good luck, whatever your decision. I think your books are great!!

Hello Linda,
I wish I had some insight to share. I suppose pricing is the key. One thing about Etsy is that it has gotten so big. But that's OK too. That's why Burger King wants to be across the street from McD's. I read somewhere that you can always go up on your price and look good but not go down. I don't know if that helps. Another way to look at it is they can't buy if you don't list.

I LOVE them Linda.....And I totally know what you mean about the time and effort part. Sometimes for as long as it takes me to create, I could price some of my gift tags for $30.00....but then again I'm a slow worker...not to mention that there really isn't a market for a $30 gift tag :) But, your little journals? Definitely! I think it's more than a fair price. And i would absolutely, buy one from you at that price. Plus you're a famous artist....so that should mean something...When I purchase one I expect an autograph in mine.....just saying....

Thank you ladies.......I guess we all suffer with the same questions when trying to sell our artwork! It is just so hard to know what to make to sell and what to just make for friends:D When I paint it is so different! I paint only for myself and if something sell....so be it:D Thanks for your comments...I really am taking them to heart:D

I don't have the stcy solution. I did read an artist that posts often to keep her stuff in the front pages. I think your journals are great and love that you've sone something interesting with the inside. Price sounds OK to me especially as a gift item.

Never be afraid to ask what you are worth.

And you are worth alot Dear Linda.

YES ! I would pay 32.

Absolutely.

That is a bargain for a handmade journal such as this !

And I like Sharon's advice - They can't buy if you don't list. Good Point.

Luck and Love.
Love, S.
