Last year I purchased these village houses but didn't have time to do much to them. This year I decided to work on them in the gingerbread house theme and use pastels to go with my wreath I made. I will show you the entire mantel once I get it done, but for now here is a collage of the work I have been doing this evening:D I just love Christmas! Wish I could leave up the decor for at least 6 months......LOL

They are gorgeous and who says you cannot leave them there.
Wonderful! Where did you find the houses? I found 3 of them at an Octoberfest (old, bare and ugly)and covered them with silver glitter. I like! :-)
I found them at Hobby Lobby and saw a few of them there this year as well!
Guess what you can. You can leave them up a whole year. I did. I left the stocking hangers perched right there on the mantel all year. They are ready and waiting for the stockings.
I Like, I Like!
I love these little houses and I wish I had a hobby lobby close. I am going to their store on line. Thanks for the inspiration. I have been making my own little houses and it takes forever. I also collect the old ones.
Check out my blog and please add me to your list of links.

so pretty- did you paint and decorate them all? I like that idea, vs. buying ones alrady decorated.
You and me both, Linda!!
I love your village. I have only one of the "paper" houses. It's under a cloche in the kitchen. I wish I had more of them.

linda, thank you for visiting and leaving such a sweet comment. :)
i haven't been on the computer much at all lately and have missed so many good posts. i am off to spend some time in the archives here.
:) i can't wait to see what cool things you have been creating!
Your snow village houses look wonderful. I picked up a few blank houses at Hobby Lobby too, but I haven't found time to decorate them yet.
