Breathtaking......

Treadmills
That is the only word I could find to express the feeling I get when in the presence of one of Alicia LaChance's beautiful paintings. I saw her work about 3 years ago and have tried several times to purchase a small piece (affordable for me:) only to find that everything was sold out! Well, as luck would have it, my sister asked me to go with her to a studio walk this past week-end! The first, and I might add the ONLY, studio we made it to was the studio of the gracious and beautiful Alicia LaChance! Her studio is located in Maplewood and she had invited several more of her contemporaries to share her space for the day. I walked in and was immediately captured by 6 pieces of her work hanging on the wall. All were of good size, but one (way out of my range) was VERY LARGE! Each piece was full of life, texture and color........oh the color. Her use of space is envious! The richness of her pieces is surpassed by few.............. I could have purchased any of them and been soooooooo happy, just to have a piece of her work around me. Well, after an hour or so of conversing with the artists, I asked Alicia if the pieces were for sale. She said, "Oh yes...." and the first milestone was passed! To have in my presence 6 pieces all NOT SOLD!! Next was to find out if my little retirement budget could squeeze out enough to make one of these babies my own. Well, not only were the prices in my range, but she gave me a fantastic deal in order for me to purchase the LARGE PIECE!!!!! OMG I couldn't even believe my ears............................it was mine...................all mine............to look at and cherish for years to come!!!!!! Here is my beautiful new aquisition and I hope you enjoy it just 1/10th of the way I do:) I still can't believe it is hanging on my living room wall:D

Take my breath away! I just looked her up and am in awe. How do I contact her? I would love to invest in her artwork. Thank you so much for sharing!

Please forgive the commercial plug, but it seemed that it would be ok in this context - studio stuff, feel free to delete this if you feel it's inappropriate, but our gallery represents Alicia in the Seattle area. You'll find many delightful pieces at www.galleryfraga.com.

Thanks!
