Studio Friday....AHA......

I know what you are going to say...."this is an aha thingy"? My answer is an definite YES!!!! I have been working on my studio for the past few days and one of my big problems has been the storage of rubber stamps. Not just storage, but storage but viewable at the same time. Many years ago I rescued some merchants shelving from the dumpster behind Red Lead in Maplewood. Well that sort of worked but I could never come up with a better solution until........yesterday while surfing other blogs I came across some studio pictures of another blogger. With a curious eye I enlarged each photo and studied the organization of materials. There, one the third pic, was the answer to my question.......close shelving that would take up little space, hug the wall and hold all my stamps so that I could easily see them! Just like the store....get out of here!!!!! Next was the challenge of what to make them out of. My hubbie and I came up with many ideas, but all required ALOT of work. WELLLLLL, while perusing the isles of Lowes, I came upon the wire shelving that is so popular. One look and I realized that if we cut most of it away and only used the little edge we could mount it directly to the wall and WALLA.......my custom shelving. We did end up throwing away most of the 6 ft. shelves, but they were cheap enough that it didn't matter.....we got what we wanted with a limited amount of effort. I will need to go back and get about 5 more sections tomorrow morning to finish the job, but believe it or not, this was a WONDERFUL AHA MOMENT for me! Posted by Picasa

Absolutely fantastic A-HA! And you are so right about storing stamps: you gotta be able to see them and store/organize them at the same time! Love how this worked out for you.

It feels good to get organized! Clean away the cobwebs, have things in easy reach...get ready, set, go!
