Sister gift...............

For my birthday....and after a little hinting.....my sweet sis gifted me with these two lovely little paintings. She has been doing a painting-a-day for the past 180+ days and posts them regularly on her blog. To see them all click here! She just keeps getting better and better:D I fell in love with the lemons when I first laid eyes on them..........and dropped a BIG HINT at that time! Wasn't sure she got it, but evidently she not only got it.....but framed it for me and had me pick out another with frame to hang with it:D It is so wonderful having a sister that "gets you"! Thanks sweetie.............I love it:D

Maddie's Journal.....

I have been working on a new journal for Miss Maddie! She is our precious little peeps that lives in K.C. We don't get to see her enough and she has to get used to us every time she comes to St. Louis. I hate that................but that is how it must be! Little ones need a period of time to get familiar with their surroundings and new people.........each time the kids come from K.C. Maddie takes a day just to feel comfortable with us again:( I say that.....and yet she doesn't have any problem feeling comfortable with her Papa! She stays pretty close to Mommy and Daddy, but once the new baby comes along I think things might change:D Love you Maddie girl!!!!!!!

Finally Finished......

I had been working on this painting for some time and had finally layed it aside to go onto journal work. I didn't like it, but I wasn't sure why???? Funny how fresh eyes can make it sooooo clear! My sis walked in the other day and took one look at it:D She liked it, but said the vase was too small for the arrangement..............that was all it took! THEN I SAW IT! She was right......I just was too close and missed it:D Oh how I love a "Second Opinion"......Thanks San!

Girls Books......

I have had the time and inclination to do more work on the books for my babes here in Eureka! Margo turned 8 this month and I needed to add some things to her book, while Milly is now 4 and her book was in need of updating as well:D This cold, rainy, gray weather has made it easy to stay in the studio.....instead of gardening or shopping at the "Thrifts"..LOL

Works in Progress.....

I have been working on a couple of canvases but do not think they are finished. Just thought I would post in order to keep me going.....so that I can publish the finished paintings:D Self inflicted deadline....so to speak:D

I long to become more loose in my work, but seem to always slip back into a tight style. I did quite a bit of underpainting to get me started.....then today I started to turn them into paintings! Still not as loose as I would like, but better anyway. Baby steps! Any suggestions ALWAYS WELCOME!

With Blizzard comes more time in the Studio:D

Spent time working in the girls journals while the sleet falls! We haven't gotten any snow yet.....have no idea how much is coming, but it doesn't look good (I guess that is a matter of opinion..ha..ha). Hope this clears up before Thursday.....I would like to take place in another "Art Fest" at Sacred Heart here in Eureka!

I am having too much fun with these inks:D Love the intensity and purity of the colors. I am calling this series "Peepin & Peckin".

New Found Fun!!!!!!!!

I have been playing with a new medium that I am really lovin:D These new colors are Daler Rowney Acrylic Artists Ink. The colors are bright and bold and can be used opaque or translucent. They are easy to use and addictive. Above are a few illustrations I have been working on......will post more later.

While on Vacation.............

Although I didn't get as much finished as I would have liked.......Sandy and I took along our artwork and spent some time creating while the guys were on the links:D Here are a few pages I completed in Margo's book. Now I need to finish and get some work done in all the other grandchildren's books.......

I finished my little book boxes and journals and took them into the shop today! The shop was full of tricks and treats and I took some pics I could share with you.
