Snakes and Furniture:)

First.....I wanted to post to anyone who knows an Autistic child!
Children with Autism like to feel where their body is.....
this can be satisfied by a weighted blanket or vest.
Margo hasn't taken to the vest at school.....
so I made her some snakes stuffed with dried navy beans.
I wasn't sure what the reaction would be.....
but felt it was worth a try!
Well......much to my surprise.....
her mom says she sleeps with it,
wears it to school
and
loves the weight on her shoulders!
YEA....my first HOME RUN:D
So.....I made her two more last night for back-up!

This was a little vintage picture frame
I picked up at a thrift store.
Love the way it looks
after several layers of chalk paint
(Homemade Chalk Paint:)

Love all the detail.....and I only paid 3.00 for it:D

This little table was also painted
with homemade chalk paint!

Cute table in terrible shape.
Two coats cream chalk paint
a little sanding
and
clear soft wax!
So simple and so pretty!

Off to the mall we go:)

love the frame and the table..
good for you making your own paint and it looking so pretty.

the snake you made is pretty.. just wondering your thoughts for those of us who suffer from panic attacks. For me- there's a feeling of floating- like I cant get grounded. I wonder if a snake would work if I put it around me neck for weighting effect. I have some scrap fabric and some beans so I guess it couldnt hurt to try it.

The snake is so cute! What a sweet and thoughtful gift! She is so lucky to have a grandma that loves her so much! So glad it is helping her. The frame and table are wonderful finds and look lovely in white!

The snake idea is cute and I love that it brings her such comfort. Thanks for sharing with air your laundry Friday! Love your finds. Everything looks better in white. ;)
