While Perusing the Antique Mall....

I found this lovely cement column......and it was the right price:D
I immediately thought of that awkward corner
in the dining room.
The corner I wasn't sure what to do with!!!!
I went home and measured the height
and
decided to give it a try.
First a trip to Michael's for some artificial ferns.
I don't ordinarily like any artificial plants or flowers,
but this corner had me stumped.
I wanted something green......
but not enough light to keep a cactus growing:(
I gave in to the idea of artificial
when I saw these beautiful life-like ferns.
They actually cost more than the pedestal
....but they were lovely.

I believe the balance in the room is much better,
and
although I still have an aversion to the fake...

I do love the overall look of the room!

What do you think?

This post is linked to the Brambleberry Cottage....here!

I don't like artificial flowers, but I make an exception for ferns. I've used them in my house, too. I think the pedestal looks great in the corner.
