Night at the Auction......

Last night my hubby and I went to a local auction and had such a good time! It has been years since I have attended an auction....and had forgotten how much fun they can be:) I was the lucky winner of an extremely low bid on some chairs (pictured above...sort of) I first bought 4 and was asked did I wanted any more for the same price????? Oh no, now what! Rog said "Yes"! We ended up with 6 of these little beauties for a total of.....you ready???? $30.00!
First thing this morning I put them on Craigslist! Not wanting to appear greedy......I listed them for 20.00 each! Well..............................probably not enough LOL! Within an hour I could have had them sold 4 times:) By noon, they were sold and picked up...........................now that is what I am talking about:)
The other lucky event of the evening is wrapped in the cover of that little book you see in the collage! There were several books for auction and I found this little one when we first arrived. I figured they would sell the entire lot together (maybe 15 old books). When the auctioneer came to the table.....I held my breath:) He picked up two of the books and started his song......I went ahead and bid, not knowing what I would be getting. At 9.00, I was the lucky winner......then.....he said, "Come on up and pick out the books you want". WOW.....I fell into that! I only wanted this French Children's Book called "Totor Et Tristan" about 2 little soldiers and how they learn life's lessons:) The illustrations were what I was after....and....now they are mine. Can't wait to integrate them into the twins books.

Are'nt auctions so much fun! Glad to hear that you did well and congrats on selling the chairs so quickly! Not a bad return on your investment of $30!!

Sounds like you should be going to more auctions. That Craigslist sale certainly was timely in this down-turned economy.
