The Week from Hell.................

Treadmills
At 8:00pm last night we got a phone call from my son....he was crying and hard to understand...saying that there was something wrong with Hunter and would we come right away! I could hardly breath!!!! Why did they want us to come to their house and not meet them at the hospital?????? I frantically called back....."Are you sure you want us to come to your house?" "Yes, and hurry," he screamed.............
We jumped in the car and headed down the highway! They live 35 miles away from us and it was poring rain.....OMG why don't we live closer.......it seemed like it took forever to get there, but in reality it only took 25 minutes. Chris had called 911 and an ambulance had already picked up Hunter and Chris and taken them to the hospital. Sheila was at home with Chase, waiting for our arrival! Once she got Chase settled in bed, she headed to the hospital herself. There isn't much conversation when your brain is trying to wrap itself around the thought that you might lose one of your precious babies....... Within the next hour or so, we got a phone call from the kids saying that Hunter had had a Febrile Seizure and was doing fine now! The doctors still wanted to run a few more tests and then they would release him. I was weak from anxiety.....
At 11:30 the door opening woke us (we had fallen asleep on the floor watching TV )....and there was our precious little boy all smiles and wanting to show off for us! As if nothing had happened, children can jump back!!!!!!!! We all 4 had tears in our eyes.......all thinking the same thing.....that there could have been other outcomes!!! After many kisses and hugs, we made our way back to Eureka.....again, little conversation.....just trying to take in the events of the evening. WE are so lucky to have such wonderful hospitals in St. Louis. If we need care, we know we are getting some of the best! I LOVE YOU HUNTER:D

Wow! What a horrible experience. I'm so glad everything turned out ok. Hopefully, it will never happen again. I hope all of you have a much better week ahead. ~Teri~

I am so sorry that Hunter, his parents and You had to go through this. Seizures are so scary but the good news is that most children who have a febrile seizure never have another one. You are all in my prayers.

I am SO lucky to have such a wonderful NaNa and PaPa! It is such a relief to know we can count on them! I knew I never even had to think twice about who would help us! It is such a relief to know you have people you can count on when you need it. NaNa and PaPa have helped us out so many times we are very lucky! I also am very thankful that I have such a great husband and wonderful babies!
