We Can Monkey Around.........

My baby boys came for dinner tonight wearing their little "sock monkey shirts" (some of you will remember from past posts). They looked soooo cute and it was the perfect time to introduce them to the "Sock Monkeys" I am making for them. I still have a little to go on the second one, but they got the idea:D I made one like this for their daddy when he was a little boy. They couldn't cuddle them like their bears.....and....they looked at all those long lanky legs, arms and tail hanging out there and didn't know quite what to do with them.....ha...ha! I also gave them a present of my father's rocking chair! This was used by their great grandpa when he was little and then passed on to me as a child. I have had it refinished and repaired over the years and Sheila was just thrilled! The boys fought over who was going to rock first........it turned into a love fest and I had to share them hugging. They finally learned to take turns:D Sheila has her little rocker from her childhood and plans to give that to them tomorrow so there will be two little chairs for them to share.

How sweet!! Wouldn't it have been great to be a twin--someone to play with and grow up with and have that connection with.

I love sock monkeys too and made one for my youngest son 10 years ago. I just think they are so cute. ~Teri~
