A Twelve Hour Day.........

My sis and I decided to start a NEW TRADITION this year! We both picked 3 different kinds of cookies we wanted to make and then hit the thrift shops to find Christmas Plates and dishes we could present them on:D I found wonderful plates and a platter for my daughter to use for her "teacher gifts" this year and Sandy, my sis, found wonderful platters for she and I to use. After purchasing all the ingredients we decided to start the day early........ We hit the ground running at about 9:30 this morning.....and didn't even stop for lunch! My hubby brought us home a burger from his afternoon appointment and that was sustenance for the day (that is with a little cookie dough to boot.....LOL). My little oven was hummin all day.....chuging out one sheet after another. We found that putting in more than one cookie sheet at a time really caused havok with the time and temp. so we worked steadily finally turning off the oven at about 9:00 tonight. Then......it was off to Walmart on our tired little feet....to find something to store all these goodies in until assembling them for all six of our kids and their families. This will be a gift from the heart and something we don't normally do! Until retiring I never could think about spending an entire day baking......Oh this retirement is WONDERFUL! Now we have another lovely home-made gift to be given Christmas Eve:)
Friday I will spend the day at Carrie's (my daughter's home) to make cookies for Margo's teachers.....Carrie wasn't feeling well this morning and decided to PASS rather than "pass on" an upset stomach.......or the bug that is causing it :)

What fun Linda.... See I told my mom I always wanted a sister, but instead I got three brothers....

Oh well, one of them is a great cook though.

I am glad you had tons of fun and the cookies look very tasty.
