Leaving for a couple of days......

Treadmills
We (my sis and her husband and Rog and I) are headed off for a little R & R. We are driving to Galena, Ill. first and will probably stay there for a couple of days. From all I have read....things are really hoppin in the Fall. All kinds of art studios open along with galleries and Fall Festivals everywhere:D The guys will play golf and San and I will be at our best perusing the festivities:D I have heard that the town is chock full of little shops etc.
Then it is off to Wisconsin.......first to Madison and then to Spring Green to see the Frank Lloyd Wright school and home at Taliesin! Sounds wonderful........

Anyway, I will gone for a few days and will have much to post when I return. I thought I would take a few pictures of the last blooms of summer! My favorite plants for deck containers this year were.......Hibuscus, Oleander, Portulaca, Flowering Vinca, Penta, small shrubs and Plumbago! I will be repeating these next year and not repeating some of the annuals I used this year. Our deck is in the sun much of the day and being on a hill top, the wind plays havock with all the plants. Most have to be watered twice a day....uck! It is really hard if you go away for the week-end..........
MyGeraniums didn't do much of anything this summer due to the heat! Now that the weather has cooled a bit.....they are blooming like crazy! Not sure if I will put them on the deck next year!

You will love Galena, I have been there and the shops are decorated with so much eye candy you won't know where to look. Great place at any season. Located in a valley with the colors of fall will be too much fun. Have your camera ready.
