Retirement Day....YEA!!!!!

Well, the day finally came and went.........and what a day it was! After cleaning up the last of my room and turning in everything to the office it was time for the final good-bye! Tears and laughter were everywhere.......but mostly conversation about when we were all going to get together again:)
Then it was off to the Social Security Office......and then....home! When I arrived there was a beautiful bouquet of roses and Astramarian (spelling?) waiting for me in the kitchen.......How sweet! Then it was time to change clothes.....and....there in the bedroom was another bouquet of roses and Astramarian waiting for me on the night table....OH MY! Once undressed and dressed in work clothes it was off to the garage to find the shovel....and....there on the dining table was ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET of roses and Astramarian (or whatever the name is)....you get the idea!!!! I am married to the most wonderful man! He is always original and thoughtful! Always doing something nice for me.....to make me feel loved and cared for!
We met some friends and former teachers at a darling restaurant in Webster where we had a toast and great dinner. Here we are sitting outside after a great dessert of strawberry cobbler with ice cream........

Now you probably will have even more time for your little grandchildren and art projects :) That is always a good thing!
Gongratulation from your retirement.
Thought it must be a bit strange first to not go in work....

Linda, congrats on your retirement! Here's toasting to you, and more time in the studio!

Loved seeing your second twin book in S.M. With articles like yours they should still call it "Legacy".

Lifting a glass in another toast....no alarm clocks!

Congratulations Linda!!!! Thank you for devoting so much of yourself during your teaching career. It's one of the most rewarding and difficult jobs and you took on the challenge. It takes a special person and I know that's you. Your husband is so sweet! What a nice surprise:) Love, Jamie

Congrats on retirement! Isn't it wonderful? I pulled the plug the end of '98 & I'm loving every minute of it. It is especially sweet when you like to make art & have all the time in the world to just play.
