The pages you see above are the starting of two new pages devoted to Hunter's cousins, Margo and Milly. So far I have transposed the pictures to B/W and cropped them. Once glued into the book I have painted onver the background with gesso and a little pink paint. I have painted over the background probably 3 times to get it blocked out enough to please me!
Now I am going to design the rest of the page. That would include the shape of the center of interest and the elements that I will add for color and detail. I kind of work one layer at a time. Once that layer is dry I can start adding more. Sometimes I have the entire idea in my head before starting.....while other times I work a little at a time! I will post the next step tomorrow when I have started adding......stay tuned!
oh yes, at the upper left of the pic of Margo you see some hats I have already cut out for the girls. I may or may not use them......not sure:)

Thanks for your well wishes on my trip! Guess what I will be reading on the plane??? My newly purchased (tonight) copy of Somerset Memories!!!! You can bet I will be thinking of you!!
Hooray! I was really hoping you would share some of your secrets with us! I just found some old albums that had records in them from the 40s and I want to use them to do something simular to what you are. Thank you so much for sharing! Everything you do is so inspiring.
How generous of you Linda to share your secrets. Now I need an in-person lesson. Gesso sounds intimidating.
I have a quick question......Are you photos ink jet prints or from a color copier? Ok, two questions.....if it's from an inkjet do you have problems with the ink running? Thanks so much for showing your techniques!!
Thanks for sharing your technique, Linda. Do you work one page front and back, or do you attach pages together for a thicker base for your work?
Thanks for the tips. I wasn't sure how you got your pages to look so good. I didn't know what order you put things on. I will stay tuned for tomorrows lesson---I cant wait!! ha.
