Rooftop magic.....

Last night we visited a wonderful new St. Louis rest. called "Vin de Set", located on the rooftop of a renovated brewery building on Choteau and Mississippi........the owner also owns "1111 Mississippi"......both extraordinary places to visit! Located in the historic Lafayette Square neighborhood (and one block from the home of my twins)....I great place to have fun and a delicious French meal.....
Open only one week, they really had their act together! There is inside dining as well in a beautiful refurbished cafe, main dining room and hugh bar area.....they also have a little open lounge for intimate conversation located above the bar area. The deck is HUGH with a wonderful view of downtown St. Louis. At the bar there is a statue of St. Louis unearthed in the renovation. This statue is one of 6 made to duplicate the large "St. Louis" statue that sits in front of the St. Louis Art Museum. These 6 were given to large supporters of the 1904 Worlds Fair.....and how fitting....two were discovered this year...only 106 years after the fair. One was given as a gift to the "History Museum" and this one which sits as the focal point of this beautiful room!
We had the best seats in St. Louis for the fireworks display and then......off to kiss the babies good night (just a tiny visit because they were off to bed)! The pic is off my sis and brother-in-law (Sandy and Bus) and Rog and I...... Posted by Picasa
