fifteen down and fifteen to go..........

i worked some on my "swag swap pieces" yesterday.......these are for a garden swag hosted by creative underground! after a few minor(?) adjustments i figured out how to make it work best......what i didn't realize when making the prototype was that my 2" punch would break after one pass using watercolor paper:) then, i tried drawing on the 60 circles with pencil, using an awl to punch through the center to get my scissors in and THEN trying to cut that perfect circle by hand. well, it didn't take me long to realize THAT WASN'T GOING TO WORK EITHER! then off to Red Lead a wonderful little shop where i purchase most of my art supplies. with Chris' (owner) help i decided to invest in the sizzix circle cutter. that was a great idea.....only to find I ALREADY OWNED ONE and had never even opened it up...aha. after another hour of trying out how to get my eggs under the die cut without having it cut away part of the egg.....you know there are 4 varying circle sizes on the sizzix die cut.....and they are close together, so whenever i made a cut to get the circle in the middle of the egg, i would lose another part of the egg as well}:-( at this point i was REALLY FRUSTRATED!!!!! BACK TO SQUARE ONE! soooooooooooooooo i took the broken punch out of the trash....played with it for a few minutes and WHALLA......found it would work if i inserted the paper, put it on the floor and stepped on it ha..ha..ha then i simply used a screwdriver to push the punch back out so that i could use it again:) OMG i really didn't plan on this much time...............................but now i am on a roll. i completed about half of the 31 needed so if my A.D.D. doesn't click in, i might finish them this week-end...YEA!
