1920..........

this is a little box i finished this morning. i seem to always end up with teal and red/orange, even when i try to go a different way:) those colors remind me so much of vintage toys and such. loved these two little people.....simple life, simple toys! life seemed less complicated then.......i think the pivital word is "seemed". without the techno toys children had to use their imagination and entertain themselves....creating games and new ways of doing things. as an elementary art teacher i see the need to spoon feed the children so much these days. kids are scared to venture outside their comfort zone and usually involves being entertained rather than entertaining. imaginations are being crushed in the world of "play". if it isn't attached to a joy stick or ipod it isn't fun.......what happened to the days of playing the dirt with army figures or shoebox doll houses? sometimes it makes me sad.......... Posted by Picasa

If it gives you any hope my mum is teaching my nephew how to play mud pies, something that my sister and I had hours of fun with.

Are these little toys to share? The folded hat is adorable! Clever, and the colors are perfect, spirited and young!

I so agree, where are those days when play was simple? Lovely piece, I love the colors, Red is so playful and fun! the little fringe piece in the corner (paper?) is a fun touch... and that little blue truck, wish it were full size, I just love OLD cars!!!
