Simplify

When we simplify....the important things rise to the top! This is my new theme. After collecting to the point of mental turmoil, I have decided to make my life easier. I spend so much of my alone time cleaning, dusting, rearranging, organizing and storing stuff! WHY? I have no idea.... It is time to change my ways. I want more time to spend with my grandchildren, reading a good book or just talking to an old friend. More time getting to know my neighbors (we have lived here 7 years and haven't increased our neighborhood group of friends since the first year). Some have come and gone already and I don't even know what they look like:( I save EVERYTHING! I do believe that some of this is due to my job.....as an art teacher of 450 students money is tight. I don't throw away anything that could possibly have another use, or that might make an encore in the future. During Christmas Break I plan to get rid of more (the process has already begun). I took out 6 totes of Christmas decor and let my daughter and daughter in law pick whatever they wanted. Could it be that I am using this as an excuse to replace my STUFF with NEW STUFF???? I hope not.......but in all honesty, I am not sure:) Don't get me wrong, I am not getting ready to "cash in my chips".....but a good cleaning out will be very helpful to my mental health.
